The songs and sketches in this group are pretty raw. But this is the most finished that they will get, as my daily energies continually turn toward various new projects and older projects are left behind.
Most of these songs, like the ones on my various other albums, were inspired by my observations of the great sorting-out process going on among all humans on the planet Earth right now. Groups of like-minded, like-believing humans are coming together, knowingly or not. One long-standing group has a deep need to dictate the rules for everyone else, and to own and control everything for their own selfish benefit. Another group believes that all humans are equal, and that every human has a responsibility to care for the Earth and for all of her children. Another group stays drunk or stoned to hide from it all, while yet a larger segment of humanity sleepwalks, denies, and looks the other way, trying to survive and remain uninvolved and unnoticed.
It is easy to observe that many human belief systems are becoming more crystallized, stronger, more fixed and more ambitious at this time. Some groups of humans have strong religious beliefs that cause them to see themselves as superior, and to want to convert others, or to avoid, control or even bring harm to those who disagree with them. These believers are often angry, fearful, self-serving, or negative in their world view. They include such extreme believers as the new ultra-conservatives, certain of the Trump followers, the super-fundamental Christians, the super-fundamental Shia and Sunni Muslims, and the super-fundamental Jews. Across the globe there are also groups and sub-groups of humans playing non-religious or pseudo-religious political and military power games as well. Geographic groups with big national beliefs, huge needs, and unlimited ambitions, such as Russia, China, USA, Europe, and Iran seek to dominate one another..
There are also groupings of humans within individual nations, groups based upon the shared beliefs and ambitions of individuals, corporations, churches, and political parties. Negative, self-serving beliefs underlie the current unlimited greed of capitalism-gone-crazy. Unlimited greed and need for power have resulted in fewer and fewer companies, families, and individuals owning and controlling more and more of everything on the Earth, and thus controlling the most power over Earth's inhabitants. This group includes the deniers who believe that it is OK to sacrifice the environment for corporate profit.
Seemingly disparate groups share and are motivated by amazingly similar underlying beliefs. Christianity, Islam, and Judaism share beliefs about a coming Armageddon, in the need for living a “good” life, and in an afterlife that rewards true believers. One group of believers, in the middle-ease has a religious need to destroy all who disagree with them, and to create an all-encompassing global religious caliphate. The West in turn seeks to destroy that group and its followers world-wide. This situation forces humanity to engage in a confusing and expensive war. Global economies, transportation, and communication could easily deteriorate if any of the hate-filled groups of humans, whatever their beliefs, fight long enough, and intensely enough, or until only one group has its way.
It appears that for a time into the future it will be difficult to hide from and avoid the effects of the likely clashes between groups of negative believing, negative behaving, self-serving humans seeking dominance over everyone else. Viewed from here, at the beginning of 2016, the future for humanity’s continued spiritual evolution sometimes looks a bit guarded. Thus, "Wacked-Out Cosmic Angst".

While my more polished songs usually gravitate to II Cosmic or Howling Wannabes albums, the Deep Dude albums often provide homes for simpler songs, songs that are topical, or ones that are somehow different than usual for me..
